The Vittra School in Sollentuna will devote 1-3 June to a project for Kenya and the Gundua School. The days will conclude with “Operation Dagsverke”, a project to raise money for children in need in other parts of the world. Vittra’s proceeds will go to the Gundua Foundation and the school in Ex-Lewa. On 1 June, Amanda Borg from the Gundua Foundation visited Vittra to talk about Gundua and what the project is all about.
The children found all sorts of way to raise money. They baked cakes and buns to sell, they cleaned homes, and they knocked on doors with collection boxes. One of the boys in the 7th grade, who baked cakes to raise money, hoped that local families would relate to Gundua and the importance of education, as they have children of their own. The Vittra teachers are also organising two Kenya theme days with special focus on the Gundua School. Many activities are being planned, including African films, and introducing students to Swahili.
