The Health Centre was officially opened on 12 November 2011. The project is part of the Gundua Foundation’s long-term commitment to increasing the standard of living for the 10,000 or so people living in and around the community Ex-Lewa. In addition to preventive care and education in health-related matters, the clinic will also offer childbirth services and maternity care, children’s health, primary care, dental care and a pharmacy.

In addition to financial support during the coming three years, the main donor/sponsor ApotekHjärtat hopes to contribute crucial pharmaceutical competence. Many of its employees also have experience of fieldwork, which will come in handy on location in Kenya.
